This is the 2nd oil painting that I did of the view from the window of my grandmother's house on Slate Row near Carrigart, County Donegal, Ireland, where she grew up long ago. Carrigart is a small Gaeltacht village and is one of the more remote but most scenic parts of the country. In this scene, you can see the Mulroy Bay and in the distance, the mountains on the Fanad Peninsula
Jeannie Allerton grew up in the suburbs of Phila, later spent 25 years in Monmouth County, NJ and now resides happily retired with her family in Havre de Grace, MD, a beautiful little city on the Chesapeake Bay. Her father was an artist and Jeannie always wanted to learn from him. Since 2012, she has had the privilege to study painting on a weekly basis under nationally acclaimed and locally loved artist, Lee Alban. At Monmouth University she minored in art but majored in business-accounting to assure a good salary. Now that she is has more time, she enjoys painting the scenes she captures with her camera.
