Artist's Description
This is an original oil painting, a remake of Camille Pissarro's "The Artist's Garden and Eragny". It is believed that it is his wife, Julie, who is depicted here planting seeds in the hot, summer sun. In 1884, Pissarro moved his family from Paris to the small village of Eragny-sur-Epte in Northern France, where the artist painted many scenes on-site, in plein air.
About Jeannie Allerton
Jeannie Allerton grew up in the suburbs of Phila, later spent 25 years in Monmouth County, NJ and now resides happily retired with her family in Havre de Grace, MD, a beautiful little city on the Chesapeake Bay. Her father was an artist and Jeannie always wanted to learn from him. Since 2012, she has had the privilege to study painting on a weekly basis under nationally acclaimed and locally loved artist, Lee Alban. At Monmouth University she minored in art but majored in business-accounting to assure a good salary. Now that she is has more time, she enjoys painting the scenes she captures with her camera.
